Enfield Council; £33,945 to £36,711
Enfield Council is one of London’s leading local authorities, combining a diverse and modern suburban location with excellent travel links into Central London and neighbouring counties. Consistently putting our residents at the heart of our operations, Enfield sets the benchmark in ensuring we provide best-in-class services to our local community. Our finance department is central in this endeavour.
The senior finance officer will sit in the corporate finance team and is primarily responsible for supporting the finance manager with medium term financial planning, the setting of the council’s annual budget and the accounting arrangements relating to the Collection Fund.
This opportunity will include a wide array of responsibilities such as coordinating the budget process, maintaining the medium-term financial plan, the processing of adjustments between service departments and ensuring statutory financial returns are in line regulatory requirements.
This role should be particularly attractive for those individuals with an ambitious mindset, as this is a great opportunity to gain a thorough overview of the council’s finances and budgets whilst acquiring valuable experience in all aspects of corporate finance. There will be wide scope and opportunities for development from senior officers who will have a direct stake in your success.
You will be a hardworking, organised and highly numerate individual who can provide high quality financial support. You will ideally have previous experience working in a financial environment, using computerised systems (preferably SAP) and Excel. It is important that applicants either hold or be actively working towards an accountancy qualification.
