Responding to COVID-19: insight, support and guidance

Finance Business Partner

London, permanent, £59,111-£67,900

Closing date: 23rd August 2021

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is the smallest borough in London. It's also home to a high-profile authority that puts its residents first. As a Finance Business Partner, you'll provide influential advice and support, allowing us to provide a quality service for all.

Your expertise will be integral to the decision making process. You'll assist directors and senior management and advise on major projects in the borough. With your experience of managing complex financial issues, you'll respond to requests quickly, provide valuable insight and ensure senior staff make the best use of their budgets.

You'll oversee financial planning, budget monitoring and the account closure process. With your experience working with substantial budget portfolios, you'll help the organisation to deliver its ambitious council plan in a challenging financial landscape. You'll identify risks and potential savings and produce robust reports to support your findings. With your excellent analytical skills, you'll be confident driving forward the medium-term financial strategy. To support this, you'll be keen to explore new ideas and learn from others in your professional network within and beyond the council.

You'll be experienced in supporting senior leaders with all aspects of financial management and you won't be afraid to challenge the way things are done if it means we can provide a more efficient service. You'll be a great communicator and a proven leader, as you'll have management responsibility for your own staff. Plus, you'll be a member of working groups across Financial Management leading on projects that benefit the whole department.

This is a complex but rewarding role. To apply, you'll need to be fully CCAB qualified and have a degree or significant relevant experience. Evidence of your continuing professional development is essential, while an understanding of local government finance is desirable.
