Competitive salary: Circa £99k to £118k pa – pay award pending

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Owing to an internal reorganisation of the senior management structure, Transport for the North (TfN) is excited to be recruiting a new Finance Director. This is a highly visible role interfacing with key business areas throughout the organisation.

TfN is the UK’s first sub-national transport body. We bring the North’s Local Transport Authorities and business leaders together, enabling our region to speak with one voice on the transport infrastructure investment needed to drive transformational growth and rebalance the UK economy. Our vision is of a thriving North of England, where world class transport supports sustainable economic growth, excellent quality of life and improved opportunities for all.

As a pivotal member within our leadership team you will play a critical role in driving the achievement of TfN’s vision. You will report directly to the Chief Executive and oversee the day-to-day management of our Finance, Risk & Procurement functions, providing recommendations to senior management that will guide decision-making on matters affecting the strategic direction of TfN.

The successful candidate will also act as the TfN’s designated S151 Chief Financial Officer ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements including local government and central government financial management and accounting requirements. The postholder is also TfN’s designated Senior Information Risk Officer (SIRO).
