Salary: £66,809 to £72,828
Closing date: Sunday 22 January 2023
Interview date: 2 and 3 February 2023
Serving a county of more than half a million people is a complex but hugely rewarding challenge. As Head of Finance for Adult Social Care & Health (ASC&H), you’ll be at the heart of our work, helping us support our communities and look after some of our most vulnerable residents.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the ASC&H departmental management team and provide strategic financial support and advice. As a key member of our Finance Management Team, you’ll contribute to the ongoing development of the whole finance service, supporting the Council in achieving best use of resources for the people of East Sussex.
Day to day, you’ll inspire a team of professionals to deliver operational finance services; supporting annual budgets, capital programme bids, financial plans and more. As we continue to empower our people through technology, you’ll also help to roll out our new financial system and embed hybrid working.
About you
To help ASC&H go above and beyond, you’ll need to be a true business partner. That means you need a gift for building trusted working relationships and influencing decision making at all stages. We’re also looking for a qualified accountant, with proven financial management skills experience of working in the finance department of a large organisation. It’s crucial you can work collaboratively with external agencies including the NHS and navigate local government finance.
It’s a busy, varied role but you’ll never be on your own. In our highly supportive environment, you’ll always have colleagues at your side and diverse opportunities to learn new skills, and continue your professional development.
