Manchester, permanent
Job description, key responsibilities and experience
Salary: £69,858.26 - £78,314.09 (pay award pending) + benefits
Closing date: Midnight Wednesday 4 September 2024
As Head of Strategic Finance, you’ll lead the delivery of the deeper devolution financial strategy, making sure we’re ready to take on new powers and resources and implement new financial flexibilities. At the same time, you’ll support the wider GMCA organisation with the direction of capital and revenue resources for major programmes of work, to support the delivery of the Greater Manchester Strategy. Both tasks will involve advising senior figures across the GMCA, as well as the Mayor, Andy Burnham. You should therefore be comfortable dealing with high-level figures as well as high-profile agendas.
Working at the cutting-edge of your field, you’ll see that various teams deliver key financial workstreams. There’ll also be the task of building strategic relationships with officials in key Government Departments where we are delivering further devolution such as the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. Whatever the challenge and whoever’s involved, you’ll support the GMCA’s progress towards devolved arrangements.
