CIPFA-Penna are supporting a large local authority in recruiting to strengthen their finance team with the appointment of an Interim Head of Transactional Finance Services. The role will involve overseeing a large transactional finance team to ensure that not only a culture of continuous improvement is achieved, but also to develop and mentor the team towards this aim.
It will encompass partnering with department heads and senior staff in technical, operational and strategic matters relating to improvement of processes, controls and assurance – specifically relating to the upcoming launch of a new council-wide finance system. You will address required transformation across the transactional finance service, with free rein for identifying and implementing operational service improvements.
We are looking for driven candidates, comfortable with managing large finance teams and working closely with senior stakeholders, with good experience of financial leadership and expertise in process improvement methodology – preferably demonstrating examples of having previously motivated a large finance team towards achieving significant goals.
