Responding to COVID-19: insight, support and guidance
Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Councils, permanent, £34,120-38,269
Closing date: 25th October 2021
Bromsgrove and Redditch Councils are transforming their finances and introducing a new ERP system as part of an ambitious improvement and change programme. As Payroll and Project Team Leader, you will lead payroll service and play a key role in supporting the ERP implementation. You'll be the go-to person for all payroll issues, ensuring we deliver an efficient and effective service to both councils and their partners, while leading your team through an exciting period of change.
This means you'll have a range of responsibilities, including helping to develop relevant financial policy, dealing with payroll system issues and ensuring relevant regulatory changes are interpreted and implemented effectively. At the same time, you will support project teams in delivering the new ERP system, including building and implementing the payroll solution and its ongoing support. This will include setting delivery timetables, liaising with user groups and acting as the internal project manager during implementation.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge of business applications, including payroll, HR and finance. You will also need a background in relevant system administration support, along with experience of supporting the development and build of a major payroll system. You'll have a strong understanding of HR policies and employment law, as well as the ability to translate pay and conditions of service into systems builds. As a proven project manager, you'll also have experience of successful project implementations.
A confident communicator, you'll be used to developing and managing strong working partnerships at all levels and explaining complex issues clearly and concisely. You'll also be a motivational manager, with the character to develop and inspire your team to drive efficiencies, identify commercial opportunities and make the most of them. Ideally, you'll have a CIPP qualification, or keen to work towards it.
