CIPFA exemptions are offered based on previous qualifications of similar level.
Exemptions are granted on a paper by paper basis. All exemption information listed is indicative, based on the modules usually studied as part of the degree in question. All exemption applications must be accompanied by full transcripts. No exemptions are guaranteed until CIPFA has reviewed transcripts to ensure sufficient syllabus coverage.
An exemption will not be awarded if you have previously attempted an examination for a subject and have not been successful. Academic qualifications will not be considered if they were obtained more than ten years ago. There is no time limit on professional qualifications achieved, provided membership of the awarding body is still current. By applying for and accepting an exemption you are accepting responsibility that you may be examined on exempt topics in subsequent stages of the Professional Qualification. We strongly recommend that you take time to review the Professional Qualification syllabus and learning materials for any approved exemptions.
