This is an event for CIPFA South West members to listen and discuss topical events and look forward to 2018. We are being joined by Andrew Burns, CIPFA President, Rob Whiteman, CIPFA CEO, Kate Kennally, Chief Executive for Cornwall CC and Ian Woodall, Everest Climber. Interesting talks, an opportunity to raise questions and to share views with our speakers will fill the day, and provide excellent networking opportunities with colleagues. You will gain CPD hours for coming to this event.

Andrew is the Director of Finance and Resources for Staffordshire County Council with strategic responsibility for finance, HR, ICT, digital, property, commercial and customer services and treasurer of the Staffordshire Pension Fund.
Andrew led the Financial Transformation Programme that delivered £150m of savings, significant service improvement and enabled Staffordshire County Council to set the lowest council tax for any county council.
He is currently President of CIPFA and was President of the Society of County Treasurers in 2015/16.
Rob Whiteman has been CEO since September 2013. Before joining the Institute, he was a senior civil servant who worked as the chief executive of the UK Border Agency and had previously led the Improvement and Development Agency. Prior to this he was CEO of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and director of resources at the London Borough of Lewisham.
