About this event

It’s been six months since the Code of Practice (Well-managed Highway Infrastructure) became effective. Recommendation 15 states "The appropriate competencies for all staff should be identified. Training should be provided where necessary for directly employed staff, and contractors should be required to provide evidence of the appropriate competencies of their staff."

In order to demonstrate implementation of Recommendation 15 it is essential that an assessment of the roles and responsibilities of staff is carried out, along with the different levels of competence required. But how do you define ‘competence required’ for the various roles? Once you have assessed this how do you ensure that staff maintain this level of competence?

UKRLG’s recently released Asset Management Competence Framework has been designed to help authorities answer these questions and support implementation of Recommendation 15.

At this series we will be explore the framework in detail.
