About this event

This event introduces the Financial Management Code combining both a strategic and organisational view with more practical elements. It provides delegates with an understanding of the higher level impact and ambition created by the FM Code and expands with more practical sessions which take an in depth look at specific elements. Delegates will be able to think about implementation in practice and discuss thoughts and ideas with peers.

With the FM Code having a shadow first year this is the ideal event for those that may have responsibility for implementation.

Joanne Pitt

Joanne Pitt is an experienced local government adviser and has 25 years of public sector experience. Joanne worked in key areas including business rates, welfare reform, council tax and housing before moving to the CIPFA Counter Fraud centre in January 2017. Speaker - Lisa Forster, Principal Consultant

Lisa Forster

Lisa is a CIPFA qualified accountant, and has worked for CIPFA since 2008. She joined the organisation as a finance advisor in CIPFA Networks, and has more recently moved across to the advisory team. Lisa’s two areas of expertise are in education finance, particularly academy accounts and assurance, and also in local government ‘transformation’ around the consideration of ‘alternative service delivery models’.
