This Financial Advisory Network open training course will provide delegates with a solid understanding of the local government financial reporting framework. The workshop will provide an overview of the purpose and objectives of the UK Local Authority Accounting Code of Practice and examine the main legislation and accounting standards that empowers, guides and limits financial reporting. It will also review the key accounting concepts and principles behind the code and explore areas of reporting specific to local government, such as the Collection Fund and Housing Revenue Account. Finally, the workshop explores the presentation of the financial statements and the inter-relationships between them.
