About this event

Numerous authorities have targeted financial self-sufficiency in the next decade derived from diversified investment portfolios designed to provide sustainable income to support local services.

At this event, we will focus on opportunities across the local authority balance sheet to enhance resilience and sustainable investments beyond specified cash management. No investment can be made outside of accounting and governance conventions – we will drill into the key aspects of due diligence option appraisal and business cases for decision-making.

Who should attend?

This event is aimed at treasury practitioners and all those involved in managing the treasury management investment strategy within your organisation.

How will I benefit?

Attendees will benefit from:

  • the CIPFA news bulletin
  • an insight into the economic picture and what investment opportunities should be considered
  • an insight into what a leading treasury adviser will be discussing with clients for this year’s strategy and how they can assist in the process
  • hearing from our special guest speaker, who will offer some thoughts on approaching ‘alternative’ investments and the importance of proper due diligence when making long-term financial commitments
  • an open forum discussion, under Chatham House Rules.
