About this event

Who should attend?

Everyone with an interest in the preparation of service and financial plans for adult social care and children’s services, including service directors and heads of service, as well as those involved in commissioning, finance and performance.

How will I benefit?

The series will enable people to prepare service and financial plans, drawing on:

  • the implications of The Outurn in 2018/19 for 2019/20 and future years
  • the characteristics of councils who make good use of resources
  • developments in planning, budgeting and reporting of performance and spending
  • the characteristics of councils who commission well
  • innovations in the use of resources
  • best practice in articulating the case for resources locally and nationally.

The two workshop sessions will enable participants to share further experience and enable people to consider how they will apply all the experience shared during the day in their own context.

The day will draw on practical case study experience of individual councils.
