About this event

During the past year we have seen significant political events that are changing the public sector landscape; however, some of the ongoing challenges also remain. Austerity in public budgets has continued to place pressure on scarce resources, and the low-yield market environment means those with investment balances and financing requirements need to start to think differently.

CIPFA is reviewing its guidance for the public sector to reflect the various approaches being considered, but effective risk-based treasury management will always be a key factor in helping the public sector manage unprecedented budget reductions.

Who should attend?

This event is aimed at treasury practitioners, capital accountants, managers with responsibility for treasury and capital, senior finance managers and chief finance officers along with elected members with treasury or capital responsibilities.

How will I benefit?

 Delegates will learn about:

  • developments in the economy
  • investing in property
  • the latest on the CIPFA Prudential and Treasury Management Code reviews
  • commercialism and forming a company
  • changes in the regulatory environment.
