Finance and accountancy training for UN employees
CIPFA and the UN have worked together since 2013. As part of its commitment to professionalising its finance function and improving its financial management performance, the UN has to date nominated over 1,600 staff from across 18 agencies to take part in our CIPFA's International Public Financial Management programme.
The only specialist qualification in the world focused on public service finance, it aims to update the development needs, skills, competency, education and experience of UN finance staff. It creates a class standard in financial skills development and prepares individuals for taking on the roles of future finance managers and leaders.
As a CIPFA course, those who successfully complete it gain a comprehensive and internationally-recognised certification in the technical competencies needed for different roles, duties and degrees of seniority at the UN.

Register as a student member
If you are new to CIPFA you will need to register as a student member. By signing up, you agree to the International Code of Conduct and CIPFA's membership regulations.
Enrol on a class
From Spring 2024, CIPFA will book all approved courses for you from the lists provided by your UN department leads. The deadline for expressing interest with your department leads for the Spring 2024 term is Friday 26 January 2024.
Please ensure you have approval as CIPFA will not be able to book any courses without prior approval, any queries please contact UNsupport@cipfa.org
Book your exam
Booking for our December Exam session is now closed. The next booking window for March 2024 exams is Thursday 18 January 2024 to Sunday 11 February 2024. All exams must be booked by the deadline, any cancellations after the deadline will require a deferral application which can be made via the applications section of our website.
Please note any applications for reasonable adjustments prior to the exam must be made within the above booking window.
From Spring 2024 CIPFA will book all approved exams, if you require assistance with your exams or you do not plan to sit, please notify us at UNSupport@cipfa.org as soon as possible.
Exam dates
