The CIPFA Diploma in IPSAS (Dip IPSAS) is designed to provide trainees with a thorough knowledge of all published standards and related documents, providing comprehensive guidance on applying the accounting requirements.

Study

The CIPFA Diploma in IPSAS goes further than the CIPFA Certificate in IPSAS and prepares trainees for an end-of-course online assessment.

Assessment

Trainees must achieve a minimum of 60% to pass the examination and will receive the CIPFA Diploma in IPSAS qualification upon successful completion. Trainees may attempt the examination up to four times during the 12 month registration period.

What the certificate covers

The CIPFA Certificate in IPSAS (Cert IPSAS) provides trainees with a foundation knowledge of some of the published standards, and important related documents. Successful completion of this course will demonstrate knowledge of the basic technical content of IPSAS and the ability to explain how certain events and transactions to public service organisations should be treated.

The Cert IPSAS is suitable for:

  • those with knowledge of double entry book-keeping or basic accounting knowledge
  • finance staff
  • trainers
  • external auditors
  • consultants who only need a basic knowledge of IPSAS
  • staff with significant financial responsibilities.

Learning materials consist of a series of online modules with interactive workbooks and practical examples.

Assessment

The Cert IPSAS has no formal examination and supports learning on the job.

A Certificate of Completion is available at the end of the programme. The Cert IPSAS provides the perfect foundation to progress to the CIPFA Diploma in IPSAS.

El certificado cubre todos los estándares relevantes en detalle y explica específicamente el contexto de la información financiera para las entidades del sector público y los requisitos de las NICSP para los estados financieros y la divulgación (base de devengo y base de efectivo).

Evaluación

El certificado se otorga tras un examen en línea de dos horas, con 60 preguntas de opción múltiple (numéricas y narrativas), y una tasa de aprobación de más del 60 %, conforme al siguiente currículo:

  • describa el contexto de información financiera para las entidades del sector público (15 %)
  • describa los principales requisitos de las NICSP (30 %);
  • aplique los requisitos de las NICSP para determinar el tratamiento adecuado de eventos y transacciones en estados financieros (40%);
  • aplique los requisitos de las NICSP con base en efectivo (15%).

Los candidatos pueden tomar el examen en cualquier momento en línea, y pueden probar un máximo de cuatro veces durante un único periodo de inscripción. Los candidatos serán notificados inmediatamente después de la finalización y entonces recibirán su certificado CIPFA.
