The new governance framework for local government will apply from April 2016 and these workshops from the Better Governance Forum support its implementation.
In 2015 CIPFA and Solace established a working group to advise on the development of the framework, leading to consultation in 2015. The updated framework will be published in April ready for implementation. In the workshop we covered the principles of the framework in detail, considered implementation issues and heard from members of the working group and CIPFA’s governance panel.
