Press comment: ICAEW appoints new Chief Executive Officer

CIPFA welcomes the appointment of Alan Vallance as the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’ (ICAEW) Chief Executive Officer, replacing Michael Izza who is due to retire in spring 2024.

Rob Whiteman, CEO of CIPFA said:

“Many congratulations to Alan on his appointment as CEO of ICAEW. I look forward to building on the excellent relationship I have always had with Michael Izza and to working with Alan to ensure even closer working relationship between our two Institutes. Together we provide the gold standard in public sector and corporate qualifications and together we benefit the wider profession, our members and society as a whole.”

Note for Editors:

Chartered accountancy bodies CIPFA and ICAEW announced in September a new fast-track route for newly-qualified CPFA and ACA accountants to gain designation of both Institutes and qualify for dual membership as part of their commitment to closer working.
