Job description, key responsibilities and experience

Salary: £38,223 - £41,418

Closing date: Midnight Sunday 5 May 2024

At Mid Sussex, our focus is on creating a place where visitors, workers, residents, and families can thrive. Now, we’re looking for driven, motivated individuals to join us in delivering services that benefit everyone.

You’ll support the Council’s financial accounting function and ensure financial best practice in regard to accounting and budgeting. From maintaining the general ledger and co-ordinating the final accounts process, to ensuring our statutory reporting is efficient and effective, you’ll have plenty of influence. As a qualified CCAB or CIPFA accountant, you’ll provide accessible financial advice to customers, including briefings on policy and legislative changes that impact the Council. You’ll have up-to-date accounting knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Excel and a computerised general ledger and asset register. Importantly, you’ll be someone who can build effective working relationships, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and takes a solutions-focused approach to all you do.
