CIPFA Cymru Wales 2020

A message from CIPFA Cymru Wales President Rebecca Nelson

Virtual AGM 3 June 2020, 14:00 to 14:30

I am writing this note in my kitchen, surrounded by my children and dog, which has become my new office during this crisis.

Coming into my second term as President, I had hoped to build on the great events we ran in 2019, including a successful conference at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cardiff, which was opened by the First Minister, Mark Drakeford. Who could have predicted then how we'd be working now?

Locally, we had planned a great AGM event at Glyn Vivian Art Gallery in Swansea which had to be postponed. However, we will not let the Coronavirus interrupt good governance and we intend to hold a short AGM to approve the accounts virtually on 3 June 2020. If you wish to attend this event, please contact me via email at rebecca.nelson@arts.wales.

In addition, CIPFA has issued some practical guidance for our members and students, including accounting technical information which you may find invaluable as we are all now heavily involved in preparing the final accounts. For more information please visit the COVID-19 hub
