CIPFA June 2020 Exams
In line with government guidelines around COVID-19, students who are currently expecting to sit a CIPFA exam in June 2020 will be able to take their online exam remotely. Students will able to take exams at home or can choose a private setting other than their home – but no exams will be offered either at workplaces or CIPFA venues.
Making our exams remote eliminates the need for students to attend an external venue. We hope the new arrangements will alleviate students’ concerns about the risk of delays to their studies as a result of COVID-19.
The remote exams will be supervised by an online invigilator through ProctorU. Exams will be monitored through the computer’s webcam and microphone. Exam times have to be booked in advance by students. Every student will be required to produce photo identification before they start the exam.
Students will also be able to check in advance whether their laptop can access the ProctorU app. We will provide two technical tests to every registered student to test the system. If students are still experiencing technical difficulties, they will be able to defer their exam to September 2020.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this arrangement include the Strategic Case Study exam?
Yes. Candidates taking the Strategic Case Study exam will be contacted with details of the SCS exam arrangements for June 2020.
What if I have already booked my exam at my workplace or CIPFA venue?
Students who have already booked their exams will be automatically swapped onto ProctorU. If this is not possible, existing bookings can be deferred to the September session.
How and when can I test ProctorU?
We will provide two technical tests ahead of the exam to allow students to test their equipment and system settings against ProctorU. The first test exam will be available on 1 May 2020. Students should schedule their test exams via the CIPFA Assessment platform. These tests will last 10 minutes and will be invigilated remotely. This test will allow students to replicate exam conditions and ensure that the live exam goes smoothly.
