Roles and responsibilities of company secretaries


The role of the company secretary is very important, as they are responsible for ensuring that the organisation complies with vital financial and legal practice, as well as maintaining high standards of corporate governance. They play an important administrative and strategic role in the company (in particular supporting the chairman), and will share responsibilities with the directors under the Companies Act, although the directors remain primarily responsible.
