This series of events provided an opportunity to ensure those responsible for benefits subsidy issues and decision-making in local authorities understood the detail of the such arrangements, avoiding potentially costly mistakes in claim administration, payment, management and claiming subsidy. The sessions also identified areas which result in the highest subsidy losses, in order to raise awareness of the areas where subsidy claims can best be maximised.
