The following briefing has been written to complement the recent CIPFA Guidance, CIPFA Bulletin 06 Application of the Good Governance Framework 2020/21.
It considers the annual review for 2020/21 and where the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on an authority's governance arrangements might be identified. It takes into account the 'business as usual' governance arrangements that would normally be expected to operate as well as new pressures.
The briefing includes some key questions for those conducting the review to help focus on significant gaps in meeting the principles of good governance.
