These are briefing notes on the meetings that were held earlier this month as part of the government’s review of local government funding. These are the:
- systems design – which is looking at how the retained rates system will work, including top-ups/ tariffs, levies/ safety nets, and appeals
- responsibilities – which is looking at the services and funding that should be devolved to local government
- needs - which is considering the 'Fair Funding Review'.
