This CIPFA Insurance Network series of workshops helped public sector organisations defend growing rate of slips and trips, injuries due to potholes and defective manhole covers claims, which is placing a heavy financial burden on the public purse. Slips and trips are still the primary cause of liability claims involving public sector organisation’s and account for 60% of the total reported injuries in the UK, with a cost to the economy in excess of £1Billion. Effective action can be taken to dramatically reduce these accidents with simple and cost effective measures.
