Regulatory committees
Complaints made to the institute are considered and determined by an independent committee or committee panel (or, in limited circumstances at the initial consideration stage, by the independent chair of the Investigations Committee).
The chair of each committee or panel which considers an individual case is an independent member (also known as a lay or non-CPFA member). Independent members are in the majority on each committee or panel which sits. There will be at least one CPFA member on each committee/panel.
The chairs of the Investigations Committee and the Regulatory Panel, from which Disciplinary and Appeal Committee members are appointed to consider individual cases, are independent members. All of the committee and panel members have be appointed as a result of their general skills and experience.
