This webinar focussed on the latest hot topics in finance and accounting for police forces, OPCCs and fire and rescue authorities and services. We provided updates on strategic, policy and financial issues including the report of Sir Tony Redmond's Review into the Oversight of Local Audit and the Transparency of Local Authority Financial Reporting (the Redmond Review) which was published on 8 September.
Our guest speaker was Andrew Kendrick from the National Audit Office. Andrew shared the latest on the auditor guidance notes accompanying the new code of audit practice.
We also looked at changes to the Code of Practice for Local Authority Accounting in the UK, focusing specifically on the 2021/22 code consultation and the introduction of IFRS 16 on leases, compliance for which is expected from 1 April 2021.
