The Green Paper, published by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (MHCLG) on 14 August, proposes fundamental reform to ensure social homes provide an essential, safe, well managed service for all those who need it. The new deal for social housing centres on supporting people to get on with their lives and make it more likely for them to buy their own homes while holding social landlords to account.

Alongside the Green Paper, the MHCLG published a Call for Evidence to seek views on how the current regulatory framework is operating. The consolation closes on 6 November 2018.
