CPD audit 2021: our findings

CIPFA’s chartered members are required to participate in our continuing professional development (CPD) scheme to meet the recommendations set out by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

Members are required to complete at least 20 hours of verifiable CPD activities over a 12-month period. They are also expected to reflect on the learning they have done and the outputs achieved. Delve into more detail on the requirements on the IAESB website.

Recently, we selected several CIPFA members at random and asked them to submit their learning and development log in relation to their CPD completed for the year 2021. The reviews conducted demonstrate that our members take their continuing professional development seriously and think carefully about their development needs, recognising that it is an ongoing process and that they are always learning in their roles.

By participating in the CPD scheme as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CPFA), you are demonstrating your commitment to developing your knowledge and skills to deliver the highest levels of service to employers, the wider public and the public finance profession.

CIPFA’s range of qualifications, short courses, e-learning and introductory workshops are ideal for keeping your skills and knowledge up to date. Explore the full range.

You can also register for the free CPD Bites service from accountingcpd, a leading provider of online CPD for accountants. CPD Bites is a weekly email containing a bite-sized, 15-minute session. They are fully tracked, giving you a clear record of the hours you complete.
